Steevo

Steevo brings a new flavour to the fore, playing Salsa, the addictive music which originated from CUBA, spread to Latin-America and now can be heard all over the world. Steevo has been in the Salsa scene for well over 8 years now.

Within a few years of learning the dance he became involved in teaching; being employed as a fitness instructor before made it an easy transition. It was only 3 years ago when he made another transition - becoming a DJ. His first regular stint was at the prestigious Babylon Lounge in Brighton.

''I was teaching there at the time when one night i asked the Manager if i could bring a few CDs to play. I'll neverr forget that night, the way the crowd responded was awesome. That's  when I decided i could do this.''

Steevo, like most of Afro-Caribbean 1st generation in the UK grew up listening to R&B and Reggae, having frequented all the clubs in the late 70s and 80s. ''But when I discovered Salsa'' enthuses Steevo '' my whole world was turned upside down. Here was a scene where all the cultures, all ages had come together under one roof for one reason... to dance and have a good time. No stress!!! Just pure good vibes is what the Salsa scene is all about.''

Other Latin rhythms included in the show will be Bachata, Merengue, Raggaeton and even Cumbia.
