Boogie - dance to a repetitive swung note, shuffle or groove, and a mood of dance!
...And for those of you who know me well, you will be fully aware for my passion lor alternative approaches to all styles of music and why am i known as Boogie P. Ultimately and fortunately for me, i have been privileget to have been surrounded with musical influences from and eraly age for over 25 years.
I have enjoyed and eclectic range of music coming from a musical family (Dad played in a band, Mum sang in a choir, Sister still sings and Brother continues to play the 'sound system' for over 30 years) before studying music, performing in arts linked to music, playing keyboards and writing songs to perform on national and international stage through singing, dance, drama and DJing.
Influenced by my passion for JAZZ in all its form, blurring the boundaries between the jaz and the modern dance floor, and reflects my take on the diverse Nu Sounds and Fusions, where the groove runs throughout. The show is also a tribute to old and new artists who influenced the progression of real musicians creating and performing in the arena of Jazz. The show also makes a stand against the MOBOs decision not to recognise Jazz as having a black influence/or origin.
The 'Mellow Meltdown' Show - this show brings into line my passion for Classics and Underground music focusing on the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s.
This as per the title is a selection of 'Chilled' and laid back selections ranging from Mellow Jazz Grooves, Soul Classics and Rare Groove deletions to positive and constructive Nu/Neo Souls inspirations. The show also futures the back to back 'Under the duvet' segwae selections, as asked for by popular demand from the world wide listeners to the show, who do not mind begin 'Spoon feed' on a Sunday morning
